A Tribute to Inclusive Cocoa
At República del Cacao we promote the generation of purposeful alliances. Therefore, together with our ally Tributo, we joined the work carried out by Fudela and UNHCR in favor of refugees and people in human mobility.
As part of our "Good Food" project that supports social gastronomic enterprises, we created "A Tribute to Inclusive Cocoa". Here, Tributo's pastry chef, Joaquín Araque, trained a group of 20 people in mobility, including 17 women leaders and heads of household, in pastry and fine pastry making. In this space, he shared four recipes of his creation and taught new gastronomic techniques that will allow them to innovate in their enterprises.
The preparations were presented at a tasting attended by trade associations, private enterprise, international cooperation and academia, with the aim of creating value networks and promoting new growth opportunities.
Fudela is an Ecuadorian NGO with more than 18 years of experience working with priority groups, women and young people in mobility. UNHCR is the UN Refugee Agency, which is dedicated to supporting people who are forced to flee their homes due to conflict and persecution.
Tributo is the restaurant of Venezuelan Chef Luis Maldonado, which pays tribute to Ecuadorian cattle, allowing him to bring it to the level of the best steaks in the world. In 2024 it was ranked 33rd in the World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants ranking.
At República del Cacao we are committed to inclusion, diversity and equality, which is why we work every day to transform the present to improve the future.
Together, we change the world, one cocoa bean at a time!
