Our Nursery: A Commitment to Origin
At República del Cacao, we reaffirm our commitment to the origin of chocolate through the rehabilitation of the nursery at our Collection Center in Vinces. This project promotes the sustainable production of Ecuador's fine aroma cocoa and strengthens our relationship with our partner farmers.
Today, the nursery has 7,500 grafted fine aroma cocoa plants, which have been validated by our technical team to ensure their quality. These plants represent an investment in the future of Ecuadorian cocoa and in the continuity of a globally recognized agricultural tradition.
As part of this initiative, the plants are distributed among our community of farmers, who receive approximately 200 plants each. This contribution seeks to renew their plots, improve their production, and generate a positive impact on the community by strengthening their farming systems and their productivity in the medium and long term.
The renovation of the nursery also strengthens our traceability efforts, allowing us to track cocoa from its origin on the farm to its transformation into chocolate. This process guarantees transparency and quality.
With this initiative, we are promoting crop renewal and the sustainable development of fine aroma cocoa, reaffirming a lasting commitment to the origin that distinguishes Ecuador and our chocolate to the world.
