Field Schools - Farmer to Farmer

Oct 15, 2024

During the first half of 2024, we entered into a working partnership with NCBA CLUSA, the largest and oldest association of cooperatives in the United States. Together, we implemented the Farmer to Farmer (F2F) project, fully funded by USAID. This project provides technical assistance to agribusiness associations and cooperatives.

This September, we were visited by a PhD in Entomology, a professor from the University of North Carolina in the United States, who spent two weeks in Vinces, Los Ríos, where our Collection Center is located. Here, she trained 80 farmers who work with us in pest management, both theoretically and practically. We visited farmers' farms, shared best practices and learned about pests. We also got small producers to get to know each other, thus strengthening our "Community with purpose" sustainability pillar.

We will continue to work in 2025 on the implementation of these Field Schools in the cocoa chain, but also with our dairy partners.

Together, we change the world one cacao bean at a time!
