Chocolatada 2025: ending the year with identity, community, and a look toward the future
At República del Cacao, we believe that the true value of chocolate comes from people. It originates in the land, in the hands of those who work it, and in the relationship of trust that we build every day with our partners in the field. That is why the end of 2025 had a special meaning: to pay sincere tribute to our community of farmers in Vinces, who are fundamental partners in our mission.
This special gathering took place at our Collection Center in Vinces, a space where we not only receive cocoa, but also collect stories, efforts, and shared dreams. It was a moment to pause, look back on the path we have traveled, and look forward together to what lies ahead.
In this spirit, we opened a space for dialogue and collective reflection through a participatory dynamic in which we shared ideas on how to continue strengthening key pillars for the future of fine aroma cocoa. Each participant contributed from their own experience and reality to improve cocoa quality, include agroecological processes, add productive alternatives that allow for income diversification, highlight the importance of generating value from the source, and discuss how associativity can be a powerful tool for facing market challenges.
As part of this tribute, we delivered plants from our rehabilitated nursery, including 9,000 grafted fine aroma cocoa plants, ready to be planted on the farms. For us, this gesture symbolizes a long-term commitment to crop renewal and continuous improvement in productivity and quality from the source. In addition, we gave special recognition to the farmers with whom we have worked the longest, providing them with soil studies for their farms, a key tool that will enable better decision-making. Finally, we shared the now classic Chocolatada, made with our Vinces origin chocolate.
