Gonzo Jimenez

Pastry Chef & Chocolatier at República del Cacao North America

Gonzo Jiménez was born in northern Argentina and grew up in a home surrounded by good food. At the age of 17, he began working in restaurants and fell in love with the culinary world. He enrolled in a pastry and cooking school in Buenos Aires and after completing his studies, he traveled the country working in 5-star hotels with renowned chefs.

From 2009 to 2013, Chef Gonzo worked at major hotels in the United States, including the St. Julien in Boulder, CO, and the Hyatt Corporation in New Orleans and New York. One of his most notable accomplishments during this period was the launch of his personal line of chocolates, supplying several Manhattan, NY hotels with high-end confectionery.

Chef Gonzo has traveled throughout Europe, North and South America, teaching classes, conducting demonstrations and offering consulting services. His work and creations have been published in European and North American pastry magazines such as SoGood Magazine, Dulcypas, Dessert Professional, New York Times, among others.

His current Netflix show, Bakesquad, has taken Chef Gonzo's career to a different dimension, showcasing his artistic chocolate skills worldwide and making him a celebrity chef. Currently, he is our Pastry Chef and Chocolatier in North America and travels representing the brand, teaching classes and offering consulting to clients around the world.
