The sixth annual list of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants will be announced on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at the Ágora event center in Bogotá. For the second year, Colombia is hosting a program of events that includes the #50BestTalks gastronomic thought leadership event, the annual Chefs’ Party, and the awards ceremony.
Chefs, restaurateurs, sommeliers, influencers, journalists, and gastronomes from around the world will celebrate Latin America’s gastronomic diversity over two days of activities, culminating in the announcement of the celebrated list of the region’s 50 best restaurants. William Drew, Editor General of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, commented:
“After the success of our first event in Bogotá in 2017, we are very excited to return to Colombia's culinary capital for a series of events that promise to be even bigger and better than before. We look forward to welcoming chefs and restaurant owners from across the region to experience the warmth of Colombian gastronomy once again.”
Several special awards will be announced at the ceremony, with their respective trophies being presented on the night of October 30. These include the Diners Club® Lifetime Achievement Award; the elit® Vodka Latin America’s Best Female Chef award, the Miele One To Watch award, and the Latin America's Best Pastry Chef Award, sponsored by Republica del Cacao.
