República del Cacao Sponsor of the “Latin America’s Best Pastry Chef Award” for the Fifth Consecutive Year
On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, Rio de Janeiro's iconic Copacabana Palace hosted the best and most acclaimed Latin American chefs, who gathered for a thrilling gala. This was the awards ceremony for 50 Best Latin America's Awards. This is an internationally recognized gastronomic event in which, since 2018, República del Cacao has been the official sponsor of the pastry category. On this occasion, the award for Best Pastry Chef Award Philippe Bongrain, CEO of the brand, was presented to Maribel Aldaco of the Mexican restaurant Fauna in the Guadalupe Valley. His creations reinvent classic pastry and combine it with world-class avant-garde techniques.


At the event, República del Cacao delighted all guests with sweet creations where chocolate was the main star. These preparations were supervised by Antonio Bachour, best pastry chef in the world 2018/2022; Andrea Lopez, Corporate Chef of República del Cacao; Diego Lozano, best pastry chef in São Paulo, and Javier Guillén, an expert pastry chef specializing in consulting and training in pastry and ice cream making. Our great team achieved a masterful job, reflected in creamy ice creams, bonbons, and small cakes, even in sophisticated macaroni dishes crafted in the kitchen of the iconic Copacabana Palace by renowned chef Nello Cassese.
Renowned chefs attended this gala, sommeliers, chefs, gourmands, and journalists such as: Adoni Aduriz, Virgilio Martínez, Mitsuharu Tsumura, Janaina Torres, among others. Furthermore, representing República del Cacao were: Paulina Páez Chief Financial Officer; Belén Vallejo, Marketing, Communications, and Sustainable Business Manager; María Grazzia Pérez, of the Marketing Department and the Brazil team composed of Antonio Tolsada, Commercial Manager, Latin America and Nadia Santiago Lazarin, Sales Manager Brazil.
