An Inclusive Cacao Tribute - Good Food 2024

September 18, 2024

At República del Cacao, we promote the generation of purpose-driven alliances. Therefore, together with our ally Tributo, we are joining the work that Fudela and UNHCR are doing for refugees and people on the move.
Within our “Comida Buena” project, which supports social gastronomic ventures, we created “A Tribute to Inclusive Cocoa.” Here, Tributo's pastry chef, Joaquín Araque, trained a group of 20 people in mobility, including 17 women leaders and heads of households, in fine pastry and confectionery. In this space, he shared four of his own recipes and taught new gastronomic techniques that will allow them to innovate in their businesses.

The preparations were presented at a tasting event attended by trade associations, private companies, international cooperation agencies, and academia, with the aim of building value networks and promoting new growth opportunities.

Fudela is an Ecuadorian NGO with over 18 years of experience working with priority groups, women, and youth in migration. UNHCR is the UN agency for Refugees, dedicated to supporting people forced to leave their homes due to conflict and persecution.
Tributo is the restaurant of Venezuelan Chef Luis Maldonado, which pays tribute to Ecuadorian cattle, allowing him to elevate it to the level of the world's best steaks. In 2024, it ranked 33rd in the World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants list.
At República del Cacao, we are committed to inclusion, diversity, and equality, which is why we work every day to transform present-day realities to improve futures.
