Project Vinces – República del Cacao & WFP
In October 2023, República del Cacao became the first SME to sign a Cooperation Agreement with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
This organization was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020 for providing food assistance to countries in conflict situations. Additionally, it helps smallholder farmers improve productivity and reduce losses, assists countries and communities in preparing for and responding to climate-related crises, and boosts human capital through school feeding programs.

Within the framework of the “Project to Promote the Consumption of Cocoa and Banana for Nutrition,” República del Cacao and the WFP are joining forces to promote a responsible supply chain. As part of this effort, they trained farmers from Santa Elena at the República del Cacao Collection Center in Vinces in advanced cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest processing techniques. This agreement marks an important step towards more sustainable and conscious agriculture.
Together, we're changing the world one cocoa bean at a time!
