República del Cacao Sponsor of the “Latin America’s Best Pastry Chef Award” for the Fifth Consecutive Year

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, the iconic Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro welcomed the best and most acclaimed Latin American chefs who gathered to experience an exciting gala. This event was the 50 BEST LATIN AMERICA’S AWARDS, a gastronomic event of international recognition where, since 2018, República del Cacao has been the official sponsor of the pastry category. On this occasion, the Best Pastry Chef Award was presented by Philippe Bongrain, CEO of the brand, to Maribel Aldaco from the Mexican restaurant Fauna in Valle de Guadalupe. Her creations reinvent classic pastry and combine it with cutting-edge techniques of world-class caliber.

At the event, República del Cacao delighted all guests with sweet creations where chocolate was the main protagonist. These preparations were led by Antonio Bachour, the world’s best pastry chef 2018/2022; Andrea Lopez, Corporate Chef of República del Cacao; Diego Lozano, the best pastry chef in São Paulo; and Javier Guillén, an expert pastry chef specialized in consultancy and training in pastry and ice cream. Our great team achieved a masterful work reflected in creamy ice creams, chocolates, and petite gâteaux, as well as sophisticated macarons that were made in the kitchen of the iconic Copacabana Palace by renowned chef Nello Cassese.

Este evento contó con la presencia de renowned chefs, sommeliers, gastronomes, and journalists such as Adoni Aduriz, Virgilio Martínez, Mitsuharu Tsumura, Janaina Torres, among others. Additionally, representing República del Cacao were: Paulina Páez, Chief Financial Officer; Belén Vallejo, Marketing, Communication, and Sustainable Business Manager; María Grazzia Pérez, from the Marketing Department; and the Brazil team comprised of Antonio Tolsada, Latin America Commercial Manager, and Nadia Santiago Lazarin, Brazil Sales Manager.

Being part of “Latin America´s 50 Best Restaurants” demonstrates República del Cacao’s commitment to actively contribute to the culinary development of the region, highlighting the importance of ingredients.
