Our chocolate reaches Netflix in the creative hands of Chef Gonzo Jiménez
República del Cacao is present in more than 20 countries around the world, where we promote a cuisine of origin, excellence, and impact. It is a pride to be part of one of the best pastry shows on Netflix with our Latin American origin chocolates produced in Ecuador.
Gonzo Jiménez is our Chef Partner in the United States and co-owner of the chocolaterie “Miette et Chocolat”. Growing up in an Argentine home, always filled with good food and long family dinners, he discovered his passion for the culinary world from a young age and began working in various restaurants at the age of 17.

After this initial experience, his career as a chocolatier chef grew, working in internationally renowned hotels and restaurants, until finally becoming a co-owner of his own chocolaterie in Denver, Colorado. This is how Gonzo is now the chocolate champion in the new Netflix pastry series, Bake Squad, alongside other great pastry chefs and chocolatiers.
Bake Squad, as its name suggests, is an unmatched squad of pastry chefs and chocolatiers, led by Chef Cristina Tosi, owner of Milk Bar Store, a pastry empire built on cookie dough. More than a competition, it’s a show where creativity, sweets, and fun are paramount.
The goal is for each chef to develop a unique and delicious creation, which will be chosen to add a special touch to various events. This is how Gonzo joins the pastry squad as the Chocolate Champion, alongside Ashley Holt, the Cake Queen, Christophe Rull, the Pastry Wizard, and Maya Camille, the Flavor Expert.

The first season consists of 8 episodes, in which Chef Gonzo surprises us with chocolate wonders that could be straight out of Willy Wonka’s world. Among our favorites are “The Dragon Egg,” “The Chocolate Warrior,” “The Gonzicorn,” and the “Texas-Style S’mores”. Additionally, we couldn’t help but accompany Chef Gonzo on this new adventure, so in each episode, there are shots featuring República del Cacao chocolates, such as our Milk Chocolate Peru 38% and our White Chocolate Ecuador 31%, taking center stage.
Certainly, Chef Gonzo never ceases to amaze us with each of his creations and dreams that come true through the most authentic Latin American chocolate, which has now also made its way into a Netflix show. If you want to learn more about Gonzo and his participation in Bake Squad, we invite you to tune in to our IG TV platform, where Gonzo will tell us directly how to become champions of chocolate!
