República del Cacao present in the XI Salón del Chocolate Ecuador

The Salon de Chocolate Ecuador is the largest chocolate fair in the country and one of the most important exhibitions of its kind in South America. The Franco-Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCIFEC) has been organizing this event for more than 10 years. On this occasion, it will be held on June 7, 8, and 9 at Quorum Convention Center, Paseo San Francisco in Cumbayá. This year, the fair will have a different focus giving emphasis on agroecology, sustainability and respect for the environment, thus promoting a conscious and respectful consumption of the planet. On the other hand, "the origin" will take center stage through conferences and promotion of Las rutas del Cacao.

The Executive Director of the CCIFEC, Mr. Fabien Przypolski, tells us that "the Franco-Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an important player in the promotion of productive business development in the country; and, through the organizing initiative of this Fair, the CCIFEC aims to support both small producers, associations and microentrepreneurs from different provinces of the country, in their process of social, qualitative and economic development; as well as offering a showcase to all the actors of cocoa, chocolate and coffee, so they can show and market their products locally and position their brand internationally. "

With the objective of uplifting Latin America´s gastronomic level, this year we have co-organized with the Franco-Ecuadorian Chamber and the Salon de Chocolate, 1st. Student Cup of Pastry and Chocolate in Ecuador. This contest seeks to develop the talent of Ecuadorian students in gastronomy through the exchange of knowledge and experiences. Prior to the contest the participants will have three days of workshops in our Chocolate Laboratory. These workshops will be held by Chef Santiago Cueva "Dessert to the Plate", Chef Andrea López "Entremets" and Chef Idaly Farfán "Bombons". These workshops will be of great support to the participating students before their performance in the Student Cup of Pastry and Chocolate.

In addition to this event, the Salon de Chocolate Ecuador will feature a photographic exhibition on the History of Cocoa in Ecuador, conferences, workshops, and several tastings of cocoa and coffee products of the country. These will be offered by more than 60 stands at the fair. This is an opportunity to get to know the potential of our national products and brands and live an interactive, educational and gastronomic experience.
