This year, República del Cacao is “LATIN AMERICA ´S 50 BEST RESTAURANTS 2017” official chocolate sponsor, which will take place on the 24th of October in Colombia: Bogota’s Mayor Theater. The objective of this well-known international gastronomy event is to select the 50 best Latin American Restaurants, as well as nominating the best pastry chef.

Ecuador’s unique equatorial climate provides the perfect environment for growing the world’s finest cacao - Cacao Arriba. Cacao has been revered in Latin America for over 5,000 years. Spanish explorers loved it so much they called it the ‘Food of the Gods’. Over 85% of the world’s finest cacao comes from Latin America. That’s why we call it 'the gold seed'.
WHERE OUR JOURNEY STARTED
In 2005, our Ecuadorian founders visited a chocolate boutique Paris, asking to taste the best chocolate in the world. To their surprise, they were told it came from Ecuador. This moment sparked the beginning of our journey, a mission to locally produce the finest chocolate.
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Our chocolate is produced locally using only Latin American ingredients. We combine these amazing raw products with the most advanced knowledge and techniques, brought by the finest French chocolatiers. We like to think of this as the best of both worlds.
Our chocolate is made locally, but enjoyed globally - all over the world República del Cacao is the chosen chocolate of chefs and pastry chefs.
Working with the best cacao pods, producers and cooperatives from Ecuador, Colombia and Perú, República del Cacao’s mission is to produce locally the most authentic Latin American chocolate by using fine aroma cacao.
SPONSOR OF “LATIN AMERICA´S BEST PASTRY CHEF 2017”
In 2016, Gustavo Saez, one of Republica del Cacao’s main chefs won Latin America´s Best Pastry Chef main award.
This 24th of October, during the Latin America´s Best RESTAURANTS 2017 ceremony, we will be naming the new winner, who will represent Latin America´s Best Pastry Chef. Republica del Cacao will be the proud announcer of this prestigious award but overall, it will walk through the winner in the new adventures to come.
