Field to city exchange: Ally Peruvian cacao farmers visit Ecuador

República del Cacao promotes the sustainable development of Peruvian, Ecuadorian, Colombian and Dominican Fine Cacao Aroma to produce quality high-end chocolate. Our portfolio of chocolates with a Peruvian profile integrates products for professional use such as our famous Peru 62% or our Milk Chocolate 38% as well as chocolate bars available for sale in our Chocolate Boutiques in Lima and Cuzco.

We conceive relationships with our allied communities where we supply our raw materials, co-developing management models that guarantee triple impact (social, environmental and economic). This way we guarantee high quality chocolate and traceability, as well as sustainable development.

Peru project focuses on knowledge exchange based on field- to-city training. In this opportunity we will have the visit of 9 of our women cacao producers who have decided to develop a chocolate entrepreneurship. Our allies will travel to the capital of Ecuador, Quito where we have our chocolate production plant, as well as our Chocolate Laboratory. This visit has as an objective to exchange experiences, good practices and techniques for the production of quality chocolate, as well as reflection and inspiration around what it means to be a women-entrepreneur.

The agenda starts on Wednesday, March 27 with a visit to our chocolate production plant integrating production and quality processes as well as a chocolate tasting. On Thursday, March 28, we will provide a chocolate workshop held by our Chef Andrea Lopez. We will conclude this energetic visit on Friday, March 29 with a short talk "Women entrepreneurs: perspectives from the farm to chocolate"  presenting the different perspectives of women in various roles of the value chain in the management of chocolate: from the farm and the obtaining of raw material, the creation of chocolate, the strategic allies involved…
